Sunday, October 21 Today I got my first email from Pedro since he left Miami 5 days ago. As you see from his photo, he has been very busy! Pedro and his nephew, Adrian, towed the Mini 1500 miles to Laredo, Texas where they had set up a staging area for the US participants in La Carrera Panamericana. Pedro describes the drive as beautiful but stressful. On Friday, all the US participants crossed the Mexican border together in a convoy. The convoy was lots of fun! They were welcomed in San Miguel de Allende with a banquet. Today they had a Carrera Classic Car Show (as pictured below). Pedro is quite impressed with his collegues participating in the race. He had the opportunity to test the Mini in high altitudes and it runs great. Tomorrow they head for Oaxaca, the city where the race begins. The rest of the team - Jose and Humberto - will join them there. Thursday, October 26 La Carrera Panamericana begins! Pedro thanks us for our support and wishes we were all there, but knows we are in spirit!
